Fun Thanksgiving Craft Projects to do with your kiddos

On November 15, Sarah from our West Allis/Wauwatosa Center was on Fox 6’s real Real Milwaukee to talk about how to make some memorable Thanksgiving Decorations. Supplies:

White piece of paper
Brown paint
Googly eyes
Feathers
Glue
Small pieces of orange and red construction paper
Black marker

Instructions:

  1. Paint your child’s foot and press it down on the white paper. Allow it to dry
  2. Add googly eyes, nose and waddle
  3. Glue feathers around the good.
  4. Write your Thanksgiving message with black marker

Supplies:
Toilet paper tube
cupcake liner
Scissors
Glue
Black marker
Small pieces of orange and red construction paper

Instructions:

  1. Take a toilet paper tube an cut into the shape of turkey’s head
  2. Fold a cupcake liner and glue it to the back of the turkey’s head
  3. Using a marker make two eyes
  4. Cut turkey nose out of yellow paper and waddle out of red paper, glue onto turkey’s face.
  5. When dry, slide rolled up napkin into the turkey

Supplies:
Egg carton

Red, yellow and orange construction paper
Pencil or Marker
Glue
Scissors
Googly eyes

Instructions:

  1. Trace your child’s hands onto a read and yellow piece of construction paper. Cut them out
  2. Cut a rectangle out of the orange construction paper
  3. Cut a small triangle out of the yellow paper for the turkey’s nose and a red waddle out of the red construction paper
  4. Cut one apart the egg carton so each of the twelve egg holders is separate. Flip it over an glue googly eyes on it and nose and waddle
  5. Write the name of your guest on the orange rectangle
  6. Glue the hands and rectangle on the back of the egg carton

Supplies:
Glue
Candy
Jars with lids
Colored cardstock
Scissors
Markers
Googly eyes

Instructions:
1. Fill your jar with treats.
2. Draw and cut out feathers
3. Write on your feathers what you are grateful for
4. Stick Feathers onto jar with double sided tape
5. Add googly eyes and beak
6. Talk with your child about their feathers and what they are grateful for.

Supplies:
Pine cone
Feathers
Hot glue gun
Google eyes
Rust pom pom
Small pieces of orange and red felt or construction paper

Directions:
1. Take feathers and using hot glue tuck them into the pine cone.
2. Cut a triangle out of the orange felt and waddle out of the red felt
3. Glue pom pom pom onto the end of the end of the pine cone
4. Glue googly eyes, nose and waddle onto pom pom
